Bid on Dreamgirls Costumes for Charity!

Jennifer Hudson’s breakthrough performance isn’t the only thing about Dreamgirls that makes it award-worthy — the film’s costume designers are also up for an Oscar on Sunday night. Now, the retro-fabulous clothes and accessories worn by Dreamgirls stars Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx will be auctioned off on premiereprops.com. Opening bids on such items as the cream sheath Beyonce wore as Deena Jones (starts at $3,800), the thigh-length fur Hudson’s Effie White donned ($5,500) and Rose’s (Lorrell Robinson) abstract red-print dress ($2,000) start today, Feb. 23rd. All proceeds go to VH1’s Save The Music Foundation.

I think it’s a great idea! For once there’s a real connection between the movie (= music) and the charity they’re associating themselves with (restoring music education in public schools). Now I want to see how high the garments go for! It’s going to be crazy.

Marissa!!!!!

It’s an awesome idea! Except, who would want to buy these clothes anyway?!?! It’s a great idea but if you’re going to do a charity thing like this, you might want to actually use clothes worth wearing.

Soph

THAT’S AN AWESOME IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the MoTown Era, and the movie, of course, and if I were terribly rich, I would buy all of these. That is such a marvelous idea!!!!!

Great idea but I’m not sure who would wear clothing from that era? Good luck to them anyways.
