Eva Mendes & Rachel Weisz Feel the Cartier “Love”

What’s better than jewelry that gives back to a great cause? Last year, Cartier introduced a silk-cord version of their iconic “Love” bracelet — and eight stars, including Scarlett Johansson and Salma Hayek, partnered with the brand to support their favorite charities. Last year’s launch was such a huge success — over 1.2 million dollars donated to charity! — that Cartier has brought in a new group of eight caring stars for a new round of bracelets. They celebrated the launch of the all-pastel bracelets with a star-studded party at the Cartier mansion in N.Y.C. last night, including “ambassadors” Eva Mendes (in Alberta Ferreti) and Rachel Weisz (in 3.1 Philip Lim). If you couldn’t make it into the party, you can still buy one of the now 16 colors of bracelets at a Cartier boutique (check cartier.com for locations) — each bracelet is silk cord and white gold, retailing for $475 with $100 from each going to the charity of choice. And check out the newly re-launched love.cartier.com for images and short films featuring stars like Helena Christensen and Marisa Berenson.

This year’s ambassador’s are:
Faith Hill and Tim McGraw for the Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation (chocolate brown bracelet)
Julianne Moore for the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (lavender bracelet)
Elie Wiesel for The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity (yellow bracelet)
Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener Trust (lilac bracelet)
Rihanna for Believe (sea foam green bracelet)
Djimon Hounsou for SOS Children’s Villages (deep copper bracelet)
Eva Mendes for The Art of Elysium (navy bracelet)
Usher for the New Look Foundation (gold bracelet)

Both look stunning as usual and love the new cartier collection.

Just Wondering

To the powers that be: Why does “previous” take you forward and “next” to you backward as far as dates and times are concerned? Granted, it doesn’t take more effort to select one over the other… but why defy logic?
