Will You Wear The Olsens New Clothing Line?

Peter Kramer/Getty

Even though Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s high-end fashion line, The Row, is now selling at Barney’s nationwide, the designing duo is not content. Good thing because neither are we! The Row’s $655 floor-length Modal cardigans and $875 banded strapless dresses are beautiful but too pricey. The solution is Elizabeth and James, the sister’s new clothing line named for their younger siblings. As Ashley told Women’s Wear Daily the contemporary sportswear line is for the “sophisticated woman with a playful side.” The more affordable line ranges from $40 t-shirts to $450 coats and will be in stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Intermix this fall. Expect washed leather jackets, supersoft shrunken T-shirts, pencil skirts, cashmere sweaters, chunky knit swing jackets, fur jackets, silk dresses and sequin minidresses all inspired by the sister’s closet. I love these two. They are true fashionistas. Sometimes I wonder what they are thinking when they put together outfits but they are young, rich and fabulous, so they don’t care what others think and that’s awesome.

I read an article about them in Vogue Magazine and it was talking about how designers love to see the twins in their clothes because unlike other stars who just pair the outfit with what’s suggested either by stylist or by designer, the twins make up their own thing. Designers love to see other people’s view of the clothing. And Mary Kate and Ashley do that by mixing pieces with all kinds of stuff.

Basically that’s a long way of saying, I’m excited about this new line.

Umm…I don’t think so…unless I want to look like a tent…

Ok…well i dont think i would wear their stuff. First of all, their clothes are kind of weird. And WAY to excpensive. Even the cheaper stuff. Seriously…a T-shirt for $40? I could get a T-shirt at Aeropostale for like…$10. And it’d probly be cuter, too.

WOW! You gotta be kidding me, dude! How do people go from a Walmart clothing and product line to the crusty end of Barney’s and Neiman Marcus. Way to remember your roots Ashley and Mary-Kate.

I’d have to check out the so-called cheaper stuff of theirs to see if I like it or not. I won’t be buying any of their $875 clothing. $450 for a coat? $40 is a little too much for a t-shirt, however it may be a different story if the shirt is cute and nice looking. I’ll look into their line, but that’s probably all I’ll do is look.

Bethany pretty much said exactly what I was thinking.

Though some see these two as fashion icons, I see them as train wrecks. A womans body is to be celebrated not covered and distorted.

NO.

1-Way to expensive

2-They never wear anything I think flatters them or is stylish

3-Everytime I see them, they’re always wearing ANIMAL PRODUCTS (feathers, fur, etc…..) Look at the picture right there, next to the text. FUR. Personally, I believe it is wrong to kill innocent animals for an ugly looking outfit.
