Fall Trend Alert: Belted Purple Dresses

We already know that belts are going to be big for fall, and purple is one of the hot colors of the season — so why not a chic belted purple dress? Keep it monochromatic with self-belt like Debra Messing (in Gaultier) or Penelope Cruz (in Christian Dior), or get bold with a contrasting belt like Diane Kruger’s patent addition to her Gaultier dress. I’m not sure I’m that crazy about purple, but the belts make all three dresses look so feminine, I think the look is a winner.

I love Penelope’s dress, and I love her shoes. I think she looks the best, and I like the color on Penelope’s dress better.

Diane Kruger’s dress is my second fave. I like the length of her dress, and unlike Debra’s, I like the contrast of the color of the dress and the black belt, whereas Debra needed a bit of color in her belt to make the whole ensemble pop. Also Debra should have done something a bit different with her hair, in my opinion.
