Chanel Cap-Toe Heels Turn 50!

Though the black and white-toed Chanel heel has been popping up lately on famous feet like Kerry Washington, Fergie and Demi Moore, the cap-toe style is hardly new. Unlike most passing fashion fads, these spectator shoes are turning 50 years old this year! Coco Chanel designed the first pair of two-toned heels in 1957 after being inspired by men’s leisure shoes, debuting in beige with a black cap toe as a slingback. Over the years, different colors have been added to the style to ensure they could be worn with everything in a woman’s wardrobe. The spectator heel became just as classic of a Chanel piece as her quilted bags — both of which are paid homage to regularly by designers like Prada and Marc JacobsTell us: Do you own two-toned heels?

Umm…. I like the shoes, not crazy about them though. They’re classics, but still they don’t really do anything for me. For sure, Kerry Washington rocks them way better than Demi and Fergie!

I love Nine West shoes, but the one’s recommended are ugly. I got mine from Zappos.com. The Nine West “Nastro” shoe in black/red leather are so much better {I have them}. They aren’t in black/white like the one’s above, but these are similar and still looks nice —> http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/31429309/c/129055.html

You can also try the Nine West “Vasca” mary-jane shoe in grey satin. I love these. They aren’t like the shoes above, but still nice looking —-> http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7374687.html

The shoes are a little pricey, but well WORTH it.

I absolutely love the Anne Klein ones! and…they’re only $59 on amazon.com!
